Quoted below is an e-mail message I recently received from Mr. Richard L. Fortman, which I am pleased to post on "My Checker World".

"Hello Howard: I looked at your presentation of my "Rockford 64" game and want to compliment you on this-
very well done. I am confident your readers will enjoy it. The 1974 Fla Open ty will be my next, for the Jan MCA issue.
You may have heard that the long-time ACF mail director Earl Hangen has been committed to an institution by his only surviving niece saying he was no longer capable of taking care of himself. She had his home auctioned, also all of his possessions. A good neighbor has informed me of this, saying it is a tragic case. He said most of Earls ACF material, including my ACF ID mail t books were trashed.
I have sent him a card and $20 and hope this will offer a bit of cheer during this holiday season. Should you wish to mention this in your CHECKER WORLD, his address is:

EARL HANGEN,
C/O COUNTRY ESTATES,
1800 TULPEHOCKEN RD., BLDG # 2,
WYOMISSING PA 19610

He had devoted most of his life to keep mail checkers alive.

With best regards,
Richard Fortman"
