Now that I lost this "Laird and Lady" game due to relying on my cross board ability to guide me safely through unexplored corridors, I will think again before challenging an unknown adversary to accompany me into doubtful realms. Just because I am not certain where an unknown path may lead is no indication that my opponent has not been down the same road many times before and is aware of all the traps and pitfalls along the route I have chosen.
