I believe my first recorded encounter with this variation of the "Single Corner" was at the Florida State Tournament held at The University of Florida, Tampa, FL in February 1998.

I had just regained interest in checkers after forty years and was playing in my first FL tournament. I have pictures I took at this tournament along with several others at - www.mycheckerworld.com/mcw/checker-album.html. I believe this "Single Corner variation was with Jim Guthrie who beat me severely. I received $5 for competing in the match.

Click on any of the underlined notes for my review of the game.
